Tammy Smith is an experienced North Carolina attorney who has successfully resolved hundreds of family law matters involving divorce, custody, child support, and property division. Known for her strategic thinking and confident courtroom presence, Tammy provides clients with clear guidance and strong advocacy during some of the most difficult transitions in their lives.
Before focusing exclusively on family law, Tammy served as a prosecutor leading the Financial Crimes Initiative for the State of North Carolina, where she prosecuted complex financial crimes across the state. Her work earned her recognition as Prosecutor of the Year for the Carolinas, and she has appeared as a featured guest on CNBC’s Closing Bell, broadcast from the New York Stock Exchange.
Tammy earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she studied Art, English, and Psychology, before obtaining her law degree from Campbell University School of Law.
In addition to her litigation experience, Tammy is experienced in representing clients in mediation and arbitration and is trained in collaborative law, giving families additional options for resolving disputes with dignity and less conflict when appropriate.
Tammy believes family law matters should be resolved amicably when possible, but she is also a seasoned trial attorney prepared to protect her clients’ interests in court when necessary.
Originally from Fuquay-Varina, Tammy remains deeply connected to the local communities she serves. As a mother, she understands that family law cases are not just legal matters — they affect the people and relationships that matter most.
