License Restoration

Helping You Restore Your North Carolina Driver's License

nc license restorationWhether your license has been suspended for traffic violations or as a result of a DWI conviction, it is important to have an experienced attorney guiding you through the license restoration process.

Don’t pay off a ticket or go to court without speaking to an attorney. Due to increasing court costs and failure to appear fees, in most cases it is actually cheaper to hire an attorney. If you pay off a ticket sometimes that will be considered a moving violation and will result in increase insurance rates or suspend your elibility for a license for another year. Here at Marshall Miller, PLLC we have put thousands of people back on the road usually without incurring driving points and increasing insurance rates.

The Revocation Process

When you miss a court date for traffic violations the North Carolina DMV is notified after 20 days of your failure to appear. In addition, if the traffic violation was a criminal offense a warrant for your arrest may have been issued as well. Once DMV receives the FTA, they notify the license holder that they have a period of time to resolve the matter or their license will be suspended. Usually, DMV gives you 3 months to resolve the outstanding ticket. If you don’t take care of the ticket during that 3 month period, DMV suspends your license. If you get convicted of another ticket during that time it will revoke your license for a year. Three moving violations while your license is in a state of revocation will result in a permanent revocation of your North Carolina driving privilege.

The experienced attorneys here at Marshall Miller, PLLC can reopen cases through motions and remove convictions. Or if you have not taken care of the failure to appear we can resolve the matter in a way that does not revoke your license.
